Vision

To be a House of Prayer for All Nations, to be a Healing Place and a place of Training for Discipleship.

We long to see society transformed and people come to know the real love and presence of God through the power of His Holy Spirit.

Approach

Christ Church is a place where everyone is welcome and where anyone can come and explore the things that matter most in life.

We pray that everyone who we have contact with might encounter Jesus, find genuine community and belonging.  Our conviction is as lives are transformed, society will transform around us.

It is our mission to make disciples and apprentices of Jesus who make more disciples of Jesus.

Partnerships

We are the Parish Church of West Dartford, part of the Church of England and located in the Diocese of Rochester.

We are a New Wine Network Church and we join in with their vision to release confident, Spirit-filled followers of Jesus. We want to see:

  • Churches filled with the presence and power of God, overflowing with love and hope to their communities

  • Individual Christians who know how to move in the power of the Spirit, making God known in their streets and workplaces

  • Relationally generous individuals and churches, giving away as much as they have received from God

Heritage

The heritage of Christ Church can be traced back to 1868 when the Rev. H. B. Bowlby became the vicar of the town centre church of Holy Trinity. Dartford had grown and it became clear that another place of worship was needed. A piece of land was obtained at the junction of Broomhill Rd and Dartford Rd and a corrugated iron church was built.
